Artificial Increment project of rain for sowing clouds in Cuba. Preliminary results of 2005.
In Year 2005 started the Project of Artificial Increase of the Cloud Sowing Rain in Cuba. The project consisted of two subprojects. The Experiment of planting clouds from airplane in the province of Camagüey. (EXPAREX). The second subproject is the Operational Cloud Sowing Experiment with Silver Iodide Land Generators (EXOGENTER), whose main objective is to increase rainfall from the clouds forming on the Cauto river basin as much as possible to increase the mentioned river and the flow of water to the dams associated with it. Álvaro Martínez, currently General Manager of METTECH SPA, participated in the construction and operation of the Silver Iodide Terrestrial Generators network. The application of this method in 2005 appears to have had a positive influence on the region’s rainfall regime, but a more effective method of evaluation should be designed.
