Cloud Seeding Program to Improve Hydroelectric Power Production in El Cajón Collective Area, Honduras
Program executed by TRC North American Weather Consultants (TRC NAWC) and contracted by the National Electric Energy Company (ENEE) to conduct programs for cloud seeding in Honduras. Evaluations of the 1993, 1994, and 1995 cloud seeding programs indicated a 9 to 15 percent increase in precipitation. In the case of the program from June to October 1995, the increase was 13 percent.
It is estimated that the costs of the program versus the value of the affluent flow according to the 1995 program. The resulting cost / benefit ratio was 23.5 / 1.
The estimated 158mm increase is equivalent to the production of 124,644,120 kilowatts / hour of electricity, which would amount to a gross value of US $ 9,400,009
